Department

       21^st  century is a century of digital era. In this era everyone should be computer literate. Dayanand Science College established a computer science department in 1999 as a sister department of Physics under the leadership of Prof. S.V. Deshmukh. Prof. K. N. Rathod worked as head from 2010 to 2016 with ample of contribution in development of department. Ms. Jaju S. A. has been working as coordinator from March 2014. Dr. L. V. Thakre leads the department from 2016 to 2020 with ample of contribution in development of department. Currently the department is headed by Dr. R. B. Shinde from 1st August 2020. The objective of this course is to bring the youth in mainstream of modern society. As Latur is in Marathwada region and most of the students are from rural area they must be aware about the recent trends. In order to fulfill the needs of the region and to keep pace with the modern age, the College started professional UG course BSC (CS) in 2008,PG Course MSC (CS) in 2009. Also we recently added BSC(DS) and BSC(SE) in 2024 and BSC(AI&ML) in 2025. Department continuously motivates the students for taking part in different competition like seminar, poster presentation, hackathon, techno feast etc. at state level, national level. Department also promotes to students for higher education. To become employable in Multinational companies & Industries department conducts Personality development, soft skills and communication, career counselling, Internship program for students and they go for internship in different companies. Besides this Department conducts different value added courses for students to enhance their knowledge and make them aware for job ready. Under the Computer Science Forum department provides the platform to the students to develop their technical skills and to give exposure to their innovative ideas. The Guidance & co-operation of the experienced and expert faculty members of the department is one of the attracting features of the department. Department also conducts computer literacy programs for all non-teaching staff in our institution.
