Dayanand Science College is the oldest and one of the few single faculty science colleges in the Marathwada Region. The Department of Physcis was one of the first independent departments formed in DSCL. It was established in the year 1961.The department has major contribution in the development of the college. Department of Electronics and Department of Computer Science were established under the umbrella of this department in 1978 and 1999 respectively. At present both of these departments are independent.
Headed by Prof. Dr. L.V.Thakre, the department of today is a place which believes in continuous learning process. State of the art labs and research facilities are available for students to conduct experiments. Teaching in this department is of best quality. The faculty is also very active in reaching out to students to help them understand the concepts.
The professors of the department have innovative approach and are working on various projects. Department has received funds from many institutions to conduct the researches
